The Poona Open Squash tournament to be held at the Poona Club squash courts has been postponed due to swine flu fears.

The tourney organisers said that the prestigious tourney will be held at a later date as several players and parents of players had fears about travelling to Pune due to all the swine flu reports.

The annual tourney was sure to be hit by a lot of cancellations and no shows due to the rising panic everywhere. The organisors were confident about hosting the tourney till Wednesday, but were forced to announce a postponement on Thursday.

No further date has been given but the squash calendar is full, so scheduling this tourney later may involve a lot of juggling. For now though, anxious parents who were pondering whether to send their children or not are saved from making a difficult decision.
